Marketing Manager
Front Seat is looking for a savvy marketer, creative thinker and energetic self-starter to be the first Marketing Manager for Walk Score and related projects. You will join a small, fun and passionate team working at the intersection of the transportation, real estate and health care industries to promote sustainable living. You will collaborate with our Founder, CTO and advisors to define objectives, develop strategies and implement integrated marketing plans that take our mission to the next level.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage social media to build and activate a community of supporters
- Grow our media relations and deliver effective hits
- Drive a steady flow of compelling and targeted communications (newsletters, blog posts, tweets, etc.)
- Extend our distribution (via cold calling, direct marketing, etc.)
- Build and maintain a suite of marketing tools for real estate professionals
- Identify and pursue new and innovative opportunities to promote our mission
- Experiment with creative guerilla and promotional marketing tactics
- Measure and analyze results, dynamically optimize efforts and regularly report on progress
Qualifications:
- College degree (MBA is a plus)
- 5+ years of online or related digital media experience
- Relentless results-driven approach
- Fantastic verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good understanding of messaging and positioning
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and to manage multiple initiatives

We're looking for a seasoned backend engineer to compliment our UI expertise and help us dream up the next wave of civic innovation driven by software.
Our technology stack includes Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP), Amazon EC2, Google App Engine, Python, PostGIS, Map Server, etc.
About You
- You have 5+ years of world-class software development experience
- You're fluent in relational databases
- You're familiar with Python, shell scripts, and Linux systems administration
- You have experience building APIs and platforms
- You have a Computer Science or related degree
- You're interested in a range of software technologies and social issues
